Il Borghetto lies on a hilltop, 4 km from the small, walled, medieval hill town of San Gimignano. The villa is surrounded by vineyards, cypress and olive trees, and has a breathtaking view of the magnificent countryside.
The olives are used for the production of the finest quality oil, which is used in the preparation of meals served at the villa.
The grapes are used for the production of Vernaccia, the locally famous white wine. The original dirt road leading to San Gimignano provides spectacular views of the famous towers of this historic UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The villa is perfectly situated for the enjoyment
of the wonders of the Tuscan area. In addition to San Gimignano, there are multiple tourism
sites. For more details visit the page Itineraries.
The villa is divided into apartments of varying sizes (1, 2, and 3-bedroom) that are suitable for singles, couples, small groups, or families. It has been restored in a style incorporating the architectural and historical period in which it was built, with design themes dating back to the Middle Ages. All apartments are equipped with the following amenities: heating/air conditioning, kitchen with microwave/grill and refrigerator/freezer, cable TV, telephone, and dishwasher (in the larger apartments).
Some of the larger apartments have a fireplace,
and all apartments are furnished to create a typical Tuscan atmosphere.
Some apartments include a private patio.
There is a large
communal courtyard where guests can congregate comfortably during leisure time;
on the lower level, guests may enjoy a pergola with wrought iron tables
and chairs and a spectacular view of the countryside.
There is a fully-equipped, coin-operated laundry at the disposal of the guests, and upon request, but not included in the price are: cribs, baby-sitting, mountain bikes, and domestic help.
